Joey Ayala |
Boholanos were once again regaled with one of the country's quintessential folk singer/songwriter Joey Ayala, this time in an intimate setting by the Tagbilaran Bay in celebration of the Earth Day, April 22.
Joey Ayala sang popular Joey Ayala and the Bagong Lumad songs like Maglakad, Walang Hanggang Paalam, Agila (Haring Ibon) and Magkaugnay.
Organized by the Bohol Nature Conservation Society to culminate their Earth Day celebration, the concert at the K of C Promenade was joined by local world music group Tadiyandi.
The event, unfortunately, was not publicized enough as evidenced by the small crowd and the sentiments of some who weren't able to come to the concert because they didn't know about it.
That would be a good reason for another Joey Ayala show here in Bohol in the near future.

Local world music band Tadiyandi fronted the concert with Pinikpikan songs and Noel Cabangon's crowd-pleaser "Kanlungan". |
|
Tadiyandi's Cha-cha Goloso lent her voice to the Joey Ayala favorite, the heartrending "Walang Hanggang Paalam" |
|
Tadiyandi also jammed with Joey Ayala in an upbeat piece. |

Towards the end of song Agila (Haring Ibon), an audience member finally heeded Joey's request for an interpretative dancer. |
