BB5: Reading Poetry in the Rain

Development worker Nestor Pestelos read from his own book of poetry and essays.
Poetry is night and day, love and war, rain or shine - literally.

Last minute pre-event technical issues didn't stop the Kaliwat ni Karyapa's banner poetry event Balut, Beer ug Balak 5 at the Plaza Rizal from celebrating out loud poetry with local poets and poetry-lovers -- nor can the rain.

Balut, beer ug balak - solb!
The usual Kaka poets and collaborators were there...
Urses Amon
Vida Tirol de Juan
DJ Arro (also MC'd the event)
Tweng Dolotina
Ludwig Quirog
Rose Sarabosing
Keats Ronquillo
Kins Aparece
Nits Luspo
The BBB has always been an open mic event, but the poets from the random audience never cease to please!

Jet Sanchez
Darlene Bustrillos, who read her mom's poetry
A random poet with a poem in hand
And of course, a happy surprise were the singer-songwriters (poet-musicians, really) who played and sang their own songs!
Melay Libres
Dymphna Quicoy

The Kaliwat ni Karyapa thanks CCAD, the Provincial GSO, PPDC Atty. John Vistal (a Kaka himself), as well as all the poets and friends who celebrated Balut, Beer ug Balak with them.
